This new fully compliant Nissan prototypical facility (to house the oldest Nissan-only dealership) was constructed using two distinct framing systems. A steel post and beam system was used in the more complex main showroom/office area while a pre-engineered metal building system was incorporated into the more utilitarian service department area where a more cost saving system could provide a real benefit. With the value of land at such a premium, the size of the sales lot was maximized by constructing a large underground storm water storage reservoir to hold the storm water runoff in lieu of building an above ground pond.
